Well the recipe for molasses cookies arrived night before last and wonder of wonders I had all the needed ingredients on hand, and although it was late at night it was OK since the dough had to chill overnight while I slept. I served them Wednesday night while family was here. We ate them, no problems.

Only had time and energy to cook 1/2 of the batter on Wednesday morning but finished off the baking part this morning. Still really good. Mine were not as puffy as the picture... not sure why but still the taste was really great.

This morning I was again in a hurry and so put teaspoon size bits of dough on the parchment paper and then sprinkled the raw sugar over the tops and no difference that I can discern... and taste just a good as first baking episode.

Your recipes make me so happy! And I love to read the stories behind them. I bought your SuperNatural Cooking book a few years ago and it is still one of my absolute favorites.

Sure - although I've never used one, they used waffle griddles for years before the electronic versions existed. See this example:

Is it possible to make waffles some way other than using one of the plug-in thingamajigs? Like by setting an insert in a skillet or something? We've been discussing waffles--no, seriously--but I already have so many specialty things gathering dust that I'm reluctant to add to the collection.

Very nice, smooth custard. The subject of pie crusts alone can bear a lot of discussion. I like them a bit salty to balance the sweetness, and the toasting of the coconut is a great addition, too, to add breadth and character. Fun!
